UManresa (Fundació Universitària del Bages) has promoted the creation of the Values-Based Leadership University Chair of the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia with the aim of setting the ideal conditions for people, teams and organizations to promote positive changes in their environament through leadership. Pep Guardiola and Manel Estiarte are the Chair Directors. A large number of leading figures in the academic, social and economic fields are also giving their support to the Chair.
The conceptual framework of the Chair is based on the professional and personal careers of its two directors. Thus, on a playing field, twelve pairs of activators (values) connect with four dimensions (person, team, organization and environment) and, together, become the pieces that give shape to a theoretical model that explains and specifies different styles of values-based leadership.
Our goal is to foster, develop and promote values-based leadership across society.

The University Chair conducts a master class for the School of Police of Catalonia.
18-12-2023. The University Chair of Values-Based Leadership collaborates with the School of Police of Catalonia to provide training to a group of superintendents of the Barcelona Local Police. The training session takes place on December 18, at the facilities of the Manresa campus of the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia, home of the University Chair.
The teaching is led by the two academic directors of the University Chair, Drs. Valentí Martínez and Carlota Riera, and focuses on presenting the various values that come into play in purpose-oriented transformative leadership.
About twenty executives participate in the seminar on leadership in values within organizations
15-12-2023. The seminar ‘Leadership in Values in Organizations’ brought together about twenty executives from various Catalan companies in a morning session that combined practical reflection with content presentation. It took place at the Torre Glòries in Barcelona, on December 15, 2023. This seminar is part of the educational offerings of the Chair of Leadership in Values at the Manresa Campus of the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia.
In addition to reflecting on how values impact and bring purpose to leadership, all seminar participants were able to develop a personal development plan on leadership in values, tailored to their own interests. The teaching was led by the two academic directors of the Chair of Leadership in Values, Drs. Valentí Martínez and Carlota Riera, as well as Òscar Dalmau and Vanessa Lozano, both accredited teachers of the Chair.
